I agreed to do this hike for several reasons: 1) It's hard to say 'no' to Luke when he asks you to help, given how much he has invested of his time and resources to support big causes in our industry; 2) Life Science Cares is doing some great work to address poverty and providing tangible hands-on support for communities in need, which helps change the perceptions of our industry; 3) the physical challenge to push me out of my comfort zone (I could not do this hike at the time I agreed to it) and to commit to months of training to achieve this endurance challenge, as I face turning 60 next year!
